How to Reset Password for AKO Webmail Platform

The AKO webmail is an extremely secure online platform which is intended for use by the military personnel in general. Through their AKO they can share safely information and sensitive data, without compromising their security. Usually, the family members of military personnel can also have access to the ako portals. Now when you log into the AKO email, you will be requested to go through two different levels of authentication:

 - the CAC authentication + PIN

- The traditional password login

But just as with many other passwords, you may simply forget your password, or you may simply want to change it for security reasons. It is a well known fact that everybody using online emailing portals should change their password at least every six months in order to increase the security and protection of personal data contained within that email inbox. If you wish to change your AKO webmail password, here are the simple steps that you need to follow:

-there is a specific reset password link available- you should click on that -then you will be prompted to enter your username, for the system to recognize you

-next, you will select the reset your password with CAC option

-find “my account” tab and select the account settings- and within this tab choose reset password for AKO email

-make sure to choose the option of resetting your password through email (another email that you have used at registration) -you will receive a message with clear instructions that you need to follow from there on
